I've been there no air lock activity but a quick look down the side of the fermentor assured me she was fermenting. Beer tuned out fine. As Nosey said hydrometer is key to gauging residual sugars left in wort.

That Saison I brewed few weeks ago came very close to filling the airlock with gunge , 20% headspace and still tried to escape !
Better believe the airlock was going nuts once I screwed lid down properly after 1.5 days of a silent airlock
