New equipment

The hijack or the Schwab?
I like them both.
I’m American but from Sicilian grandparents, and I too can spend a penny twice, sometimes more.
no spending the penny twice so try to get a BOGO on everything
Im American also but grandparents actual where Swabian

Ok, today was/is brewday. First real run for my new system.
Couple of observations(boiling still going on), part of these are also comparison for my old DIY kettle.
- Temp control is not that smooth/quick, setting for mash temp was 66.5C and it variated between 65-68.5C.
- Slower to heat than old one but that was expected
+ Easy to use(recipe memory)
So and so section
Temp probe place could be better, one reason for not that stable temp
After first run i can see where heating element is under bottom, little scorch maybe
Little update for this too incase someone is interested.
Dropping power after boil starts from 2500W to 1800W took out bottom scorching problem.
One kind of negative founding is that seam between hotplate and sidebottom(pic) is really annoying place to clean

dont stress keeping that 100% clean. hotside is less important to be spotless. i clean my system maybe once a month. i scrub what i can get to after each brew, but i dont spin chemical very often.

After my last boil, my Anvil base (the heat area) had a coating of white looked like hard water . It didn't want to scrub out easily. I poured in about a cup of vinegar and let it sit while I cleaned up other stuff. When I rinsed it out it was spotless.

Same here. Just clean is good enough. Boiling has the effect of killing anything bad

PBW at about 150F does a credible job of weakening the clingy residue. Also, can you run a clean in place ball ?
I usually get the kettle emptied and wet with leftover sparge water, dump in some PBW and let it soak. Not a lot, maybe a gallon or so. I let it cool and continue brewday tasks. When I get an opportunity a few moments later, I dump that solution, wash out with a hose and scrub, then wash with a hose and usually I'm about 5-10m in on my 18 gallon Anvil, not including the malt pipe.

I was kind of hoping these kind of answers, thanx for those :).
i have enough cleaning to do on those bottles so i don´t need more work.
