Anyone else having issues with Morebeer? I'm dealing with the return of a duplicate order and getting the extra charge credited back to my credit card.

I've made 2 purchases recently and haven't had issues. My guess is the holiday season + less staff means slower customer service responses

I used to really like MB, but gave up on them a couple years ago. Their service was sliding and their prices started going way up, even before these "supply chain" issues of late. You pay for that free shipping one way or the other.

Sorry to hear they are giving you headaches. Duplicate order--how does that happen? One more story that reinforces my choice to go elsewhere.

Don't get me started. Horrible company that I'll never do business with again.

I tried to place an order on my Amazon fire tablet. Their site kept dropping my information. I wasn't allowed to input my credit card number or the code for the 12% discount and never got to the "place order" icon. I then went to the computer to place the order which worked fine. I got an order confirmation and a tracking number for the second attempt. They took the credit card information from the second attempt and applied it to the first one and shipped both. The second attempt was addressed to Steve which I always use and the first attempt was addressed to Stephen Daniel which I never use. And now 4 days after receiving the return of the first attempt the charge is still on the credit card even after being told yesterday, "I'll give this to our returns person right away "

That sounds like fraud. The first attempt failed on your end, and thus, you never assented to, nor completed, the sale. Then they correctly processed your second attempt (which was successful and you assented to it), but then they went ahead and used your CC credentials to complete the first, failed attempt. Unless I'm missing something, I'd call that a fraudulent charge by MoreBeer. Whether intentional or not, they are responsible for such erroneous charges. Call your CC company and have them reverse that charge, based on fraudulent billing. Then call MoreBeer and tell them to send you an RMA and prepaid shipping label forthwith so you can send the extra goods back.

The extra goods were received by them on Monday. If the charge isn't removed really soon I will bring the CC company in on it.

They'll surely process the refund, but yeah, the card folks will get their attention.

I wrote CC processing software for Point of Sale systems and I can tell you that the Auth (pending) for the charge happens pretty instantly as well as the Capture. The refunds not so much after the batch closes. It's really up to the Bank that issued the card. It can easily take more than a week at times.

Morebeer still hadn't processed the refund 8 days after receiving the returned items.
Interestingly, three hours after disputing the charge with the credit card company I got an e-mail from morebeer with a credit memo.
This whole situation has felt almost scammy and I won't be using morebeer again.

The squeaky wheel gets the oil. Glad it worked out.

Interesting that Morebeer might be going titsup. A Darwinian thinning of the HBS herd. Still plenty of good online stores if you don't have a decent LHBS nearby. Midwest, William's, Ritebrew, Farmhouse, etc.

One thing I did really like about MB before their prices started going up, was grain. Shipping a sack of grain would've been cost-prohibitive as it was not eligible for their free shipping. You paid full freight on those. But they sold smaller lots of 10# bags, so you could do an end run by ordering five bags and get free shipping.

On the AHA forum there’s a discussion that they may be out of business.
? The only discussion I have seen regarding MoreBeer on the AHA forum is the exact same one that was started here.

Just ordered from them. Definitely still in business. Still owned and operated by the same guys that started it. Never had an issue and will continue to buy from them
