Merry Christmas all!
Not sure what boxing day is but I'm sure Google can tell me.
I'm hoping someone will enlighten me with some stories 1st though.

Let me know if anyone needs an explanation of what "Boxing Day" is, and no it has nothing to do with prize fighting...

I was just about to ask. Google probably knows, but I'd prefer to hear it from a native.

I'll leave it to Craig for a proper explanation but suffice it to say it involves old timey sports announcers and kangaroos with boxing gloves on.

The name comes from a time when the rich used to box up gifts to give to the poor. Boxing Day was traditionally a day off for servants - a day when they received a special Christmas box from their masters. The servants would also go home on Boxing Day to give Christmas boxes to their families.
