My pro brewer friend and I just took another win with this recipe in the Craft Beer Competition at the Colorado State Fair (3rd Place): https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/684754/hilltopper-s-pride-kentucky-common Thought I'd share it with all of you for your consideration, comment, or if you just want to brew a really good, light but dark colored thirst quencher.
Looks great thanks for sharing! Very intriguing style. Looks like it would be on the sweeter side given the corn, crystal, and lower IBU's with some spicy Saaz which I typically enjoy. What sort of flavor profile do you end up getting?
About what you described. The BJCP style guidelines for Ky Common describe this beer pretty well. I end up with a dark colored, light, easy drinking beer with some complexity due to the rye and molasses.
