Hope everyone is safe and warm

We are even supposed to freeze overnight this weekend. Going to be playing with the smoker overnight on Christmas Eve, probably with 4 layers of clothes as I don't own a real winter coat, only a denim jacket.

That sounds like a cold event but should be tasty.

Take care.
I'm +35 oC so no need to hide indoors for me.
Wouldn't make a difference anyway as I got no heating (or AC, or walls)

Seriously, I can't imagine -35. Lowest I know was -17 and I still had to cycle to school (17 km). My hair, feet and me were frozen on arrival

I was going to reply with: at least I got a winter jacket, but I don't think I do.
I recall leaving it behind in Holland with instructions to my brother to pick me up from the airport bringing it.
In case I am silly enough to go there in winter time

Coldest I've ever been out in was -26° F (-32° C). It was back in college and a friend wanted to show off his
Nazgûl costume he made. (We were part of the Dungeons & Dragons nerd crowd.) He wanted to make a proper entrance and needed me to hook up the red LEDs (for eyes) to the battery pack. I can tell you that bare hands in that weather do not work as their instructed to. My hands were shaking so much that I could not hook the wire to the battery post. We gave up after maybe 5 minutes.

2f -8 windchill, defroster cant keep up in the car so kicking it back taking a day off

It's going to warm up for us tomorrow, so I guess it's moving southeast to you poor sods.

Was -9F this morning, reached a high of -4F. It won't get above 0F until maybe Sat (high of 4F). But wind gusts of 40mph will add to the misery, and blow around the 8" of fluffy snow we got yesterday. Some of the rural interstates have been closed (yeah, they have gates to close off the on-ramps).

They said it will warm into the 30s by middle of next week.

This was the view out our bedroom window this morning.

Here in Eugene, it’s 26F with freezing rain, with accumulation up to 1/2 inch.

Yuk. I'll take the cold, dry snow over that. A half inch of ice can bring down trees, power lines, etc. And it sucks for walking on and driving.

We are a little worried about a rather large silver maple in the neighbor’s yard, but what can be done but wait and hope. By tomorrow morning the temps should be well above freezing, so hope that melts the ice. We don’t plan on going anywhere outside until tomorrow mid-morning..

A huge flame thrower will melt the ice on the tree.

I hope so. I spent $160 on Wagyu Brisket yesterday.
Might have to make a nice, warm rum drink in addition to the homebrew Pumpkin Brown on Saturday night.
