My brother has a co worker who grows cascade. He doesn’t brew or normally pick them for someone who does. My brother left them near his A/C but in a plastic bag all weekend and brought them to me today. When I rub them there is a nice fragrance. Some of them look great others not so much. What say ye? Use? Throw away?

It'll be beer right?? :D

I've used some homegrown whole cones before. They looked pretty similar. I used them all at the end of boil/flameout since the alpha acid content was unknown. It made beer. Not good enough that I tried it ever again though...

Such a small amount of hops there, might be a fraction of an ounce once dried. I don't think I would myself.

3 ounces but there’s probably still some water in them. This is after leaking them sit out all night underneath the fan on a drying rack.

Personally, the cleanup is what keeps me away fresh cones.

Whirlpool or chilling the boil through a coil after was a nightmare. Constant clogging, had to disassemble my pump twice with all that debris clogged in it.

I did use a hop spider, but they floated out. For my scale, pellets are king

Go for it!
I have harvested 4(?) times to try and get as many as possible in peak. Once dried out and compressed in a vacuum sealer, it’s quite a bit of difference. I picked about 2 gallons worth of hops, but compressed down I’d bet I have maybe 1.5-2 ounces tops.

I’ll dump them in a Muslin bag and either whirlpool or dry hop them.
