Welcome to the passion. Are you ready brother? Keep up on what goes in here in the forums and before you know it, you will be an expert.
Killer setup brother. You are already an accomplished brewer when you "homebrew" your own gear. Well done. Brew On!Brew day is finally here. I have the day off, a couple of beers ready to drink, music to listen to, should be a good time. I used up all my budget on the keg and co2 tank, so I don’t have the money or even the space for a mash-tun. So I got some left over insulation that I had and made a heat wrap for the kettle. I think it should work out. I’ll be monitoring the temp of course. See how it goes.

OH NO!!!!Well unfortunately, I don’t make it to the finished line for this beer. I finished boiling and cooled the wort down to 60f with a gravity of 1.046. But when I carried the fermenter to the cooler, a strap broke on the fermenter and the glass carboy fell and shattered. Big clean up, beer lost. At least I learned a lot from this trial. I’ll have to regroup and start another batch. Bummer for sure.
And most of them stink. Now Buy something not glass. @Craigerrr your turn to make a sales pitch.
Many use glass with no issues or they wouldn’t sell it. Opinions in brewing are like assholes, everyone has one.
