Not sure why I feel the need to post this, but maybe I just want to publicly confirm something that I've always shied away from, and that's NZ hops.
So I've been making a pale ale for the shop the last couple months using the same grain bills and changing out the hops, with the intention to make beers with hops that we don't normally sell as much as I think we should.
Recently done Australian Cascade, Idaho 7, Cashmere, and Riwaka. Cashmere was my personal favourite, Australian Cascade the shop favourite, and now this Riwaka is blowing my mind!
If you haven't used Riwaka I HIGHLY recommend it! I'm not one for citrus flavours, they can be a bit overpowering and dry imo. Riwaka is very well balanced, and the background flavours of the hop remind my of styrian wolf, very floral and even violet.
Anyways, how have you guys had success with this hop or lack there of?
