EST boil question???

Estimated boil size. It means how much water the program thinks you'll need to hit the target volume based on the values in your profile. And this one didn't work well. I tracked down how it works on Brewer's Friend - it's an estimate that either you entered or was a default. After the grain bill is setup, check the Recipe Tools -> Quick Water Requirements section to see what the system calculated as the actual starting boil volume. The number you want is the "Amount going into kettle".

For the record, that pic shows a very unlikely scenario in terms of batch size and boil off. It unusual for boiloff to be more than a gallon and a half an hour for most systems, especially ones used for 3 gallon batches.
Since I could find the same recipe in the archives, I assume that it's not the OP's system settings.

Either way it's very wrong.
