Welp, with the industry shifting towards lagers Loral cryo has become unobtanium until the next crop year comes out. I can buy a 44lb box, but that would cost me ~$500 for 2022 2025 is going close to $1k. SOOOOO i am not doing that as that would take me 3 years to get through.

What would yall substitute for Loral. I really want something High AA or cryo, but there are very few options for cryo.

I looked at beersmith. im currently looking at Glacier and nugget, Nugget is cheap and i can get 2025 @ between 11 and 14AA. I really like loral for boosting the IBUs on light traditional beers without adding a bunch of plant mass.

I have 96 oz of Loral cryo on hand, so that if i hold that just for my golden lager i can probably make it to the next crop year...
I also have:
perle(gr)
willamette(us)
fuggle
sterling

I will likely be ordering more perle either way. i would like to be able to get the US variety, but that looks like it is all gone.

ORRRRRR

I shove more magnum and perle and shuffle my hop schedule around. I double brew this atleast once a month.

Reflection after posting:
This recipe uses very little, but i use loral in almost every lager that i brew, and i brew alot of lagers. I am likely being alarmist. I do need to order hops for my ipas so i am still going to be ordering hops, but not as much...

According to a couple websites:
“ Glacier, Nugget, or Strisselspalt”
I have zero experience with all of these.

Perhaps use non-cryo if the cryo quantities are truly small. 8 oz of cryo is what, a pound and a half of regular pellets?
