I forgot about this last night. I’ll have Sophie draw in the next day or so. I’ll send a zoom link out when I find the jar :)

It didn't matter really. Even if you remembered, Sophie wasn't home last night. And it's not official unless Sophie draws it. :)

In the sprit of 1776, let's go historic....Albany Ale.

I hope the update I made to the recipe hops took; it's Cluster, not Cascade.

There's an interesting back story on this stuff that at one time was exported around the world!

There's a Facebook group out there for the Albany Ale Project and here's a link to the Experimental Brewing podcast on it.

PS...this uses 6 row so there's a protein haze that you'll get.

Sounds fun! Got a recipe link for the master list?

Do a search in the recipes under Albany with my version. There's a few others for a stronger and hoppy-er versions but this one is pretty straightforward

I guess it is this one?

Lamparts Libation, Albany XX

Got some listening to do. I do have 10# of 6 row though.
cool idea!

Okay... this is a little embarrassing, but I've never brewed with 6-row or flaked corn. Anything in particular unique to using either? I'm assuming mill the 6-row normally, but not the flaked corn. I batch sparge, if that helps.

Interesting so the origin story of the cream ale started with the Dutch long before the German brewers
They are different but the idea of using corn
To lighten the 6-row can be attributed to the Albany ale which is a lot stronger and darker than the cream ale
I like the recipe posted uses some dark malt to represent the darker color
