    Refilling CO2 Tanks

the problem with filling cylinders from another is that once the 2 pressures are equal the transfer will stop. We own a fire protection company and recharge fire extinguishers. our co2 filling rig actually pumps the liquid co2 under pressure. When co2 is pressurised it becomes liquid.

    vegetable additions

Hello Jmac, I was thinking of using fresh capsicum (not the fiery stuff) these are green. We have also been having some sweet red ones in salad lately, so I thought I might also try them. I agree with your thoughts on going under rather than over with quantity. I did a ginger beer last year...

    hop flavour idea

I am keen to try this out. How would you go about making the hop syrup? Also, I heard about steeping around 30% of the hops in the recipe at the transfer of the wort to the boil kettle. This means that the hops steep until the boil starts. I accidently added the first hop addition too early...

    Chill Time

I use a copper immersion chiller in the boil kettle with water straight from the tap (faucet for you) To get a fast chill down. You need to create a whirlpool and keep the wort moving around the coil. I get a drop to 20deg C in about 20 mins. Pete.

    Hazy Ginger Beer

Hello, I have a brew of ginger beer (4.1 abv expected) It has been in secondary for 2 weeks and I added finings 4 days ago. It is still quite hazy in appearance. A lot has dropped out of suspension during secondary. Is a hazy appearance normal for ginger beer? Regards, Pete

    well water

Hello Brewer, Have you considered an immersion cooler? If the water pressure from your well is inadequate you make need to introduce a pump into the system. Put the copper coil into the boil kettle at the end of the boil and drop the temp by running your cool well water through this. You...
