    Replace regulator gauges?

So after disassembling, cleaning the interior parts and reassembling the gauges looked normal for over 20 hours. The fill gauge was at ~1000 psi and pressure gauge was set to ~10 (and moved up and down with the knob). Came home and the gauges look like this and the pressure gauge does not change...

    Installing a secondary triple regulator

When my lhbs closed recently I bought a secondary triple regulator and the guy gave me the wrong size tubing so ill need to get some 5/16 tubing to attach to the regulator and 5/16 duotight fittings. However i am not sure how to attach the regulator to the line coming from the primary regulator...

BIAB vs. malt pipe using the brewzilla

Has anyone done both methods for the same recipe? How did the beer turn out ? How do you sparge using the bag or do you skip that step? Curious to get a bag and try it. What are the benefits to BIAB other than it being easier to remove the grains from the wort?

Cleaning regulator, overfilled keg and got beer in gas line

So how do you clean the gas regulator… do i have to clean it immediately? i made the mistake of overfilling the keg and when turning down the pressure and I burped the regulator valve and beer went out the valve, doh! The good news is my irish red ale is carbonated and tastes good haha!

    Tilt accuracy

So i have read online that the tilt is not accurate, especially during the beginning of fermentation due to the krausen. The tilt showed 1.043 whereas my hydrometer showed 1.061 (the recipe called for an OG of 1.052) and I was surprised at how different the OG was compared to my hydrometer at...

Wort Chilling techniques/setup in the kitchen

So I have a large copper coil chiller from my earlier brew kit and the one that came with the brewzilla. I currently use both in tandem by placing both in pots filled with ice and it works fairly ok. However I am thinking of using one as an immersion chiller by connecting to the kitchen faucet...

What happened to the beer in the bottle?

Hi Everyone, I recently bottled my recent brew (Vanilla Porter) from the tap and for some reason some of the bottles the beer was cloudy. The bottles I used were recently drank from and I cleaned them out with dawn followed by multiple rinses followed by diluted star san. My theory is that...

Post boil gravity = Pre-boil gravity

So I did a Vanilla porter this morning and my pre-boil gravity was 1.050 based on the hydrometer reading at room temp. Once the boil was done i took another reading and it was the same. My tilt is also reading the same as well. What could have happened? Apart from a lower ABV i think I am ok. I...

    Vanilla Porter

https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/1433453/vanilla-porter Still tweaking the recipe but not sure what is the best way to add vanilla beans (end of boil, in primary fermenter?) and how many beans to add . I am wanting to have a biscuity caramel flavor with a hint of vanilla.

    Diacetyl in Rye Kolsch

So i did a Rye Kolsch a few weeks ago and from the few samples from the keg I can detect a slight corn taste and its sweet. This was an experimental brew so I wasn't sure what to expect. All in all its pretty tasty and creamy though sweeter than I expected. after cold crashing + 2 day Diacetyl...

Torpedo keg seal into my beer while adding gelatin to keg..Doh!

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v= Sooo…I have the worst luck! :( I was following the advice in the video and right as i opened the top the rubber seal fell in the beer. . Luckily i have a second keg that i was able to swap lids. Hopefully it won’t affect the beer, has this happened to anyone else...

    Timing of diacetyl rest

So this is the second time i have used the omega labs kolsch II yeast and i find myself going past the expected final gravity once i do the diacetyl rest. The recipe i created has a final gravity of 1.013 (based on the recipe creator on here) and on day 3 i am at 1.016 fermenting around 65F. I...

    Hello from California

Hello! I am about to make brew #8 tomorrow morning. A rye Kolsch experiment brew as i really like how my last brew (Kolsch) came out and I like how rye tastes in beer. Semi-new at brewing but loving my brewzilla 3.1.1 and looking forward to connect with others on here.
