Brewing an Anchor Steam Clone - BYO Magazine December 2014

Thanks for the comment. You are correct. The water treatment that I used is not correct. I've only recently figured out water chemistry and will be making changes in future videos/recipes. If you do go down the water chemistry path, you will have to adjust for the water you are brewing with.

Brewing a Nugget Nectar Clone + Recipe – Tröegs Independent Brewing

Troegs Nugget Nectar has always been one of my favorite seasonal brews. It's not an IPA. It's an imperial amber. What makes this unusual is that it uses Vienna as the base malt. I had never used Vienna in this large of a quantity before. The full recipe is available on my website here...

Brewing a Grapefruit IPA with dried Grapefruit Zest

I thought the flavor was good for about the first week. It faded quickly. After three weeks the grapefruit flavor was minimal to almost gone.

Brewing a Grapefruit IPA with dried Grapefruit Zest

The dried zest doesn't like to sink. Some of it does a lot of it stays suspended or floats. I may try fresh zest net time.

Brewing a Grapefruit IPA with dried Grapefruit Zest

I picked up a grapefruit IPA recipe over at Home Brew Talk several months back. What made it interesting is that it used dried grapefruit zest. I had never considered using that. I hadn't actually heard of it till I came across the recipe. My full brew day video is available here: With the...

(M)Oktoberfest – Brewing an Oktoberfest Ale with Wyeast 1007

Cloning Troegs Brewing Blizzard of Hops

This past Saturday I took a try at brewing a clone of Blizzard of Hops from Troegs Brewing in Hershey, Pa. This is my first attempt at cloning a commercial beer. I used the grains and hops listed on their website to build my recipe. I ordered the hops from Yakima Valley Hops. My LHBS was out of...
