I brewed today! And placed my yearly hops order at Yakima Valley Hops. Since they were bought by John Haas they don't do the flash Friday sales anymore and shipping costs as much as a pound of Citra. After this year's order I'll need to compare prices at my LHBS, it may be cheaper to get hops there finally. They have cheaper grain than anywhere online.

I buy 5lbs at a time from hops direct, then repackage, they do have a high shipping cost but the price of the hops is so low it makes up for it in my opinion anyway

Sounds like a good deal if I had more storage space. I like that YVH let's you order in 4-16 oz increments. Feels like I'm getting a bulk discount without ordering microbrewery amounts lol

I bought a 12 volt upright fridge today.
And 2 mppt controllers.
Now if everything goes well, I'll end up with a dedicated fermentation fridge, a drinks fridge (and still a freezer en a fridge for food).
Hopefully I get it done tomorrow

And decided to start another brew.
Similar to the one in the fermenter, different hops though.
Mashing now.
Boiling this evening
Overnight chill.

Then kegging brew 1 tomorrow morning
(Here's to hoping I will have a working fridge for carbing etc)
Straight after, I'll pour the new lot on the old trub/yeast....
