What are you doing with homebrew today?

Clogged my disposal and had to replace it because I dumped too much thick trub from a 5 gallon batch. Lesson learned.

Todd
I dump mine into a 2 gallon bucket lined with 2 plastic grocery store bags that I have verified have no holes in it. In fact that is what I am doing right now.

Testing the brewer today. Assuming there are no problems, I’ll pick up my materials from the brew shop and brew tomorrow. I’m going with white labs 550 yeast, mashing single step at 149f, and fermenting at 68f. If anyone has a concern to point out I’d appreciate it. Thanks @Sandy Feet for pointing out that the yeast I was looking at was for dark Belgians, so waiting for the right yeast to be delivered at the brew shop.

Battening down the hatches for a blustery brew day. Winds currently gusting over 40 mph (64 kph) and will get worse over the next couple hours. I'm brewing in the garage screen porch so I am somewhat out of the worst of the wind. I'd hate to have to move inside the garage due to all the crap that the wind gusts would blow around and drop into my kettle.

I can't postpone my brew day due to the coming snow that @west1m cursed us with by putting his snowblower away ;) . The next open brew window is two weeks from now and that is too late. I am brewing @Tim Bulin's Shady Bohemian and need to have it ready by mid-April for a visit from my brother-in-law. So, I need time for it to lager for at least 3 weeks.

Use a blow off tube for Belgian yeasts. Those things go a little too crazy for an airlock.
Seriously, those yeasties go nuts.
