Banging my head again wall here....

  • Within the recipe editor, it inidcates my mash PH at 5.4
  • Within the linked water calc, it indicated 5.45 (where I want to be)
  • When I hit "Update recipe", nothing happens. Can't seem to align the two.
  • What is my actual mash Ph?

It's definitely frustrating and we're working on this. What is happening is that the water volume in the water calc and in the recipe have to match, so make sure that the water amount in the calculator is what is reflected in the recipe. Then that should fix itself. We're going to fix this so that the water calc pulls the water amount from the recipe, instead of the quick water requirments.

Thanks Yooper! Glad to know I’m not going crazy!

Following up on this: If I don't set set any volumes in the Mash Guidelines section of the recipe, I should plan to update the water volumes in the water calculator by hand? I typically let the mash calculator calculate infusion volumes at brew time, so I leave them at 0 in the recipe (sounds like I've been using the quick water estimates without realizing it, but they've worked fine for me so far).

so up until now the quick water calculate is based on your default settings and the amounts you add to the recipe editor, the editor is just for your notes if you do anything different, it's good to add what your actually used for that recipe and save it for future use then add a note in the notes section to track anything wrong for the next time

now that may be changing so don't count on this being fact I think it's in the works
