I know sweet feed is used for a distilling mash. My question is, if I’m making a 5 gl ale how much do you think I should use with my base malts. I never used this before or tasted it but it intrigues me. Just want to brew a one off . Any suggestions anyone?

Never heard of it. What is it exactly?

I predict that you won't like it much. Even for distilling it's associated with low quality home-made moonshine, not fine spirits. Maybe if used in moderation it could be interesting but what you'll probably find is that it throws too much vitamin flavor. Just use some oats and molasses to get the gist of it.

you can get flaked corn from a home brew shop. why not use that? it is relatively expensive, just a forewarning. and you have to use ricehulls with it

I can't imagine using that much corn in a brew. I think the most I've used is a Kentucky Common at 2 pounds / 5 gallon batch. I tried one that used 3# and it was still good but that had to be 22-27% of the grist.

agreed probably the max would be 35% but at that point you may as well just use dextrose lol. you would def need enzymes and ricehulls
