Hey all, as a newer member of the Brewer's Friend Commnunity I am super stoked to learn more about the craft of home brewing. Now that being the case, I have a reasonably large amount of experience in the world of Grilling/Smoking/Griddling. I have more steel than I know what to do with on my patio but that does not slow me down from cooking lots of stuff.

Please feel free to ask questions of me regarding anything grilling/smoking/griddling. I am currently running a Weber Genesis II 335 Propane Grill, a Traeger Pro 780 Smoker, a Pit Barrel Smoker, a Blackstone Griddle, and a Weber Kettle Charcoal Grill. I do lots of cooking on these devices and love to share my experiences with others.

I have a few of my favorite recipes and I might even be willing to share a few.

47 cm hilbilly charcoal webber here plus a 37 cm smoky mountain.
And lots of cast iron and open grills.
Sort of like beer and grilling go hand in hand:confused:

Sounds like you have a good selection of metal there. I have more metal than I know what to do with but it is always so much fun to cook. Beer is just the perfect addition in my opinion.

Weber Kettle Charcoal Grill.

I used mine just last night...country ribs and some Brauts. I tend to focus on the sauce since I've used nothing other than a charcoal Weber since the 70's and since the garden is coming in, fresh tomatoes and 2 different peppers went into it.

Welcome to the clubhouse....you have joined a good group with a great deal of know how...what have you assembled hardware wise for your first brew?

Nothing as of yet Ward.

"Don't you think you were little hard on the Beaver last night Ward?" ((Sorry I couldn't resist and aged myself.))

I am trying to figure out what hardware to get as I am just starting. So, I will probably be stopping at my local brew shop tp see what they have for kits. I have looked at the equipment list here as well. Decisions, decisions.

Little known fact...that was the most filthy line ever spoken on a TV sitcom....

Seriously..if your a foodie you are half way there...you can start with small batch on the kitchen stove...borrow the wife's soup pot...you can do extract or all grain...it's up to you. Plenty of us started that way so you'll get plenty of feed back and pointers.

Also, 2 words....You Tube

I think the big question is…How do you incorporate your grilling skills into brewing beer? I don’t think you can mash on the grill, but maybe you could smoke some malt for a nice Rauchbier? Hmm…

Actually, that was on my agenda as something I really wanted to try out. I have smoked a few "odd" things recently and malt would be a very interesting experiment. And doing it in small batches will be one of the best ways to experiment without going over board cost wise or production wise.

Pretty hard to grill properly without a cold beer in your hand, yeah yeah I know it CAN be done just dosen't seem right.
So go stand by the rabbit hole and get a shinny electeic all in one, brew a batch and get back to the grill.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I am looking at recipes for the grill right now. And I have a big smoke coming up this weekend. I have a 9.5 lb pork butt that I will be smoking for Barbacoa Tacos. Super stoked and an all day beer drinking session. I can't wait to share the results with you all. I have done a few of them this summer and I really enjoy smoking a good pork butt.
