What is a good temp for me to keep my fermenting beer at it is a porter my yeast is 1056 Wyeast

This yeast calls for fermentation between 60-72. I am always inclined to start on the lower end (63-64) until vigorous fermentation is complete and then bump up the temperature about 1 degree per day for about a week. This cleans up the byproducts a bit. Or just set to mid-range and let it go.

That what I was doing but a friend called me he was worried that he was off? Thank you for your help. How do you get your picture on your profile?

There’s a spot to post your picture under “Public Profile”.

By the way, how are you controlling temperature?
