Heading to Ireland and Scotland next week, any recommendations?

Right, so 2.41% Puts a bit of perspective on it. Nasty but not armageddon
No, and even though '17/18 was pretty bad, I am fairly sure it wasn't 10%+ (don't have solid numbers yet)

PS...that being said, I have no f'n clue where Craigerrr's screenshot came from!
Could be from www.nigeriasendmemoney.com for all I know....
@ALL: reference your sources! In general! Always! Not just regarding corona!
This is how "fake news" and all that BS has been able to take hold....ffs

This is the site I have been referring to, all the numbers match relatively close to what are reported in the news from various sources.
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
African Nations must be getting hit too, and what about N.Korea?

Edit
I click on the yesterday button just above the stats, gives you the most recent full day.

Thank you. They do have nice graphs :)

Right, so 2.41% Puts a bit of perspective on it. Nasty but not armageddon
24.1 divided by 100,000 = 0.000241 - if these are the numbers from Germany, this is a minute fraction of a percent 0.0241%
10,405 divided by 99,464 = 0.10461 - these are the numbers, 10.461%.
Just sayin...

Didn't figure it properly; doh!

I heard our health minister bod say yesterday that 20k deaths in the UK would be a good outcome and that seasonal flu usually accounted for 8k so, again, nasty but not armageddon. Different story in densely populated cities without healthcare and sanitation presumably.

Unfolding very quickly here, all pubs and clubs plus restaurants and thetres etc. closed tonight.

The USA may just become a BIG Italy real soon, here are the stats as of 00:00GMT (approximately 16 hours ago) sorted by new cases.

Yeah. Our government jug-handled the response so brilliantly. We (my family) are practicing social distancing as much as possible, still need to get out for supplies and such. It's an interesting thing to watch the US response. It ranges from the kids in Florida too entitled to quit their spring break parties to people sewing masks for doctors to strangers shoveling neighbors' snow. Our Government, well, it's amazing how socialist it became in a week but we still have the paradox of the Federal government trying to outbid states for protective gear for medical professionals, of which my sister is one. We may become Big Italy - we have six times the population. I don't believe the US will be the same nation after this as we were going into it.

We don't know the numbers because our government bungled testing so badly.

...and even those who are least likely to bungle numbers (the germans :D ) are having an extremely hard time keeping up with testing at this point, so even those numbers are at best still going to be only representative.

I really didn't think that this was a COVID-19 thread.

They kind of evolve and meander sometimes though don't they? It was an interesting trip report and part of the interest came from the impact of the measures being taken on the ground.

Probably beer involved as well, try keeping a bunch of folk who've been drinking on topic :)

Sorry for going on a tangent Frosty

I'm with you. Politicizing a thread about your vacation is pretty tacky, especially when partisan politics come into play. I'm about a far to the right as anyone, but try really hard to refrain from injecting my opinions into anything here.

At least we got to tour around the outside of Dublin castle:
