Notes

Process
Steep Grains
Heat 2.5 gallons of water to ~155°F. Steep all specialty grains in a muslin bag for 30 minutes, then remove.


Boil


Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add LME & DME, stirring until dissolved.


Return to boil. Add hops as scheduled. Total boil time: 60 minutes.


Cool & Top Off
Chill wort and top off to 5 gallons in fermenter. Pitch yeast at ~68°F.


Ferment
Primary fermentation at 65–68°F for 2 weeks.


Condition (Optional)
Add bourbon-soaked oak chips after fermentation for 5–7 days.


Bottle/Keg
Prime and bottle (carbonation target: ~2.2–2.4 volumes CO₂), or keg.
