created starter using Dark DME powder because that's all the brew store had. (no light, no extra light, no amber). I meant to order the fast pitch canned wort to use for the starter, but messed up ordering and they didn't come, so this was a last minute fix. |

added boiling water to bring up mash temp on 2 separate occasions. this brought the overall water up by about a gallon. |

pre-boil volume is about 1.25 gallons high because I added too much water to the mash and then had too dense of wort to leave in the mash tun. |
