WARNING: Kettle losses > 2% detected which throw off OG calculation for extract/partial mash recipes in batch target 'fermentor' mode. Solution: Reduce kettle losses, misc losses and hops absorption in equipment profile, OR set batch target to 'kettle' and do a full wort boil. See batch target FAQ.

Notes

Half of the honey was caramelized to black colour & bittersweet taste.

Cold steeped 50 g coffee with 100 g dark malt O/N at RT in 500 ml water. Added post boil at 100 F.

topped water up to 1 gal in bucket - OG is 1.070 July 18. Add more honey later? I think honey PPG numbers in here are exaggerated.

Pitched 1 pack fairly old omega gulo ale at 88 F (I was impatient)
Made sure wort was somewhat aerated and will ferment open at ambient T.

Aug 11 - SG is 1.013 - 7.48 %abv - coffee flavour there, dark colour, some fruity (lemon/lime/citrus/generic fruit) notes, some licorice/spice/marshmallow note as well. Alcoholic bite there. Think it needs to age?

Aug 15 - SG is 1.010 - 7.88 %abv. tasty.

Aug 30 - SG is 1.001 - Must be done
