Notes

Overnight at 78 approx then completed next day. Seemed to hit 81oC in the mash (robo target was lower) but no apparent grain astringency.

Sat Sept 4
2 pks US05. fast start. No O2. Dropped cooled wort into fermenter via hose; sprinkled 2 packs on top. Shook for 10 secs around 10-15min later. Then another short shake a few hours later.

tasted and smelt fine after 2d fermentation.

I had made an MO-Comet smash recently, and it was brilliant - flavours remained stable in the bottle for months (stove top muckaround, slow cooled in laundry sink .... no notes, grrrr). This one fell well short. Likely fermentation flaws ... brew club guy suggested cidery off-flavours. Surprising given rapid fermentation start. May have been temp control,
