I am wondering about the Yeast pitching calculator with reference to the slurry option. Dose the calculator assume that the slurry is washed or just put straight in from the fermenter.

thats a good question, you really have no idea how many cells are in any slurry so it really doesn't matter, if its a washed slurry my practice is count half the cell count for the same amount used than new, and that really depends on how old it is

The yeast calculator's slurry options usually assume that the yeast slurry comes straight from the fermenter without washing. It takes into account the yeast viability based on the age of the slurry, which is usually around 60-70% for unwashed slurry. However, if you wash the slurry before brewing, the viability may be higher and you may need to adjust the cell count accordingly in the calculator.
