I've got my first kolsch cold crashing and I was going to add gelatin to the fermenter. Should I wait until I keg it?

I have added it to the fermenter when I have used it

I put mine in when kegging. I dissolve it in a cup of hot water, pour it in, re-purge the keg while it is lying on its side, then do a closed transfer in.

I crash cool for 48 hours in the fermenter and I add gelatin. I wait until it’s clear and keg it. It keeps the sludge out of the keg.

This is how I do it too. Half the point of cold crashing is to have clear beer transferred.

I was contemplating using Biofine on my new ipa. but i dont really have time for it and i dont transfer off the yeast for various reasons. Chico will settle clear in a few days either way.

generally we used to purge toss the biofine into the clean brite, purge the vessel, then pressure transfer from the FV to the BBT. We would then carbonate it. the mixing from the transfer and the carb was usually enough to get it well blended into the beer. 24 hrs later we would pack the beer.

I also add at time of Kegging after cold crashing in the fermenter for 48 hours
