What to do with used malt?

I just dump mine outside and the javslinas eat it all within a couple days. They are less likely to root through my trash cans then.

So I take it that you are in Arizona maybe?

Better compost is made with Bokashi method.
More rapid and almost no bad smell.
That's the way I proceed.

Mine just goes in the organics bin, not enough to warrant doing special stuff with it. Occasionally my wife scoops a bit for bread or whatnot.

I tried to put it outside for the wildlife (birds, squirrels, rabbits), but they do not eat it. I then found someone with chickens and they would pick it up from me and feed it to their chickens and they loved it. As someone else mentioned, you can dry it and cook with it. There are many recipes out there for spent grain. One of the local breweries makes it into flour for their pizzas. At the commercial brewery I worked for a farmer would pick it up and feed it to the cows and pigs and they loved it. We just gave it to the farmer and he picked it up at no cost so it was a win win.
