Same favorites for me, for the same reason. But for Maris Otter, I actually prefer Crisp over Simpson's. My LHBS carries Simpsons but will special order Crisp if I ask them to. Maybe next time.Whatever my LHBS shop carries

I haven't tried floor malted yet. How does Crisp's MO compare to their floor malted MO? Is it noticeably better?I brew a lot of British ales and my last two grain buys were Crisp #19 floor malted maris otter.
That is pretty cool!If any of you are in Northern California... go visit Admiral Maltings in Alameda (SF Bay Area). 100% Floor malted... 95%+ California grown (a couple batches a year grown in Oregon or Washington). I was a maltster their for 3+ years... shoveled 20-30 tons of grain every week. Great product... very flavorful... expensive (being honest). Some folks like using it for 100% of the grist but many folks blend it in with their Rahr or other cheaper base malt. Free tours every Sunday at 3pm... they have a pub open 7 days a week serving 20 beers on draft made with their malt. They also sell malt by the pound or 55lb sack to home brewers.
