What are you doing with homebrew today?

Researching some homebrew recipes for some testers. Looking at ideas from Europe in hopes of bringing some ideas from there. I am headed to Paris and London for 10 days for a family vacation. I am hoping to find some good ideas when back in Paris to bring back and slip into a beer recipe,
London has a great pub scene and a beer culture. Wine no, Can't get a good coffee either. When in Paris the wine and Cafe culture are king.

@Brew Cat The tonic goes flat after a week or two, so exactly as @Sandy Feet wrote, I can help it stay carbed.

@FleetingSmoke London may offer better beer ideas than Paris.
I don't disagree with you there. I am sure London has some of the better offerings. What I am excited about when I am in Paris is the opportunity to try some Alsacian beers. Also, I heard a rumor of a homebrew shop in Paris that I am going to look into. Maybe I can at least come back with a cool T-shirt.

I loved the Cafe and wine culture of Paris when I lived there. London I spent time in, but at the time, I did not have the appreciation for beer that I have now. So, with htat in mind I will be taking more time to enjoy the beer culture.

My grandmother was a Fischer and the family was Alsatian so when I was in Alsace I tried the Fischer beer. Of course not as good as German beer. Alsace is famous for their dry Riesling

I'm going to be in Colorado next week, and they are supposed to have quite the beer scene. I'm also hoping for some ideas when I hit some of the breweries:) From the looks of it, I'm going to freeze my ass off going from 70/90 to 45/65, but I think it will be fun even if it feels like winter.

Where in Colorado are you heading??

I'm not as familiar with Denver. I'm further north near Fort Collins. (New Belgium, O'Dells, Zwei, Prost, to name a few. We have 4 breweries right in my small town)

Washed some yeast and consolidated from larger 1 quart Mason jars to smaller one pint mason jars.

That's funny, I'm in CO next week also
Going to be in Breck and Eagle for my grandsons graduation In Breckenridge . I'm out there a lot. Yeah I love FC. Denver has some good beers also. CO is beer lovers heaven

When do you get into Colorado. I can definitely give you some suggestions for places to go. Hit me up. Where will you be staying?

Our of 20 only 4 are any good that you frequent
Sounds about right quantity not quality. CO is a whole nother level.
Now that beeing the case there are a few that have something to be desired. But that is like anything, food, people, retailers, internet services.

Yeah around me every town has a least 1 brewery
I don't even bother going any more. A couple pubs I frequent have rotating taps, If anything good is out there it'll come around. I trust these places to cull the crap. Sure I may miss some good beers but it gets redundant after a while. So much good stuff out there and bad. I have to sub out some of the work

I'm going to be in the RiNo area of Denver. To the others, we have many more than 4 that are good. When my wife was alive, we used to hit something different almost every weekend. After she passed, I frequent just a few of them because they are the ones where I am very comfortable these days trying to rebuild a life.
If I stuck around next week here, I would roast in the mid 90s. I go on vacation, will probably freeze, and have a bunch of winter clothes packed as I guess it will be mid 60s during the day LOL.

CO weather is pretty nice it may get cold at night but it's beautiful in the daytime mostly. I'm in CO a lot and really can't remember any bad weather. Except maybe driving Vail pass in a blizzard. Down in Denver definitely going to be fine. I just looked at Denver for next week 50s at night 70s in the day. Sounds perfect.

Split kegged the Coffee Porter, filled an 11 liter keg to take to the trailer, put the rest in a regular keg and threw it in the keg fridge.
Sample is okay, don't think I would want much more coffee flavor, but if I did, I think I would also add a bit of lactose.
Didn't get the body that I have had in the past with this recipe, not sure why, but maybe I should mash higher next time.
I mashed at 68C (154.4F), so I may bump that up next time to 69 (156.2) or 70 (158).
I guess this will make it a bit more drinkable in the warmer weather, still a bit disappointed with it though.
