Anybody much smarter than me ( that’s a wide net ) help me figure out why my IBU count is 65 for a Belgian Blonde that isn’t very hop heavy? I’ve made this beer multiple times and I can attest it is most def not that high!

Nothing man.

You can get high IBUs using a low amount of High Alpha Acid hops.

I know some of them Belgian beers can have quite a high starting Gravity so 65 ibu might be in ballance with a 1.065 OG beer.

It's a bitterness / malt sweetness thing a malty beer at 65 ibus will taste less bitter to an 4.5% 1.045 OG starting gravity beer.

Did you ever figure this one out? If not, please post the recipe or a link so we can dig into it. Thanks so much.
