Water calculator

Being new to BrewersFriend and convert from Graifather, can you tell me if you have an automatic water calculator like grainfather, you enter your water profiles and it automatically works out the additions, I can’t see this in Brewersfriend and seems manual

Welcome. Yes, the water calculator is manual. Basically you fiddle with it a bit until you get close enough to your numbers.

I can't speak for the team, but I personally prefer doing it manually, since I can customize it to what I have on hand.

Our calculated values lie in the "QWR" or "Quick Water Requirements". The do require an accurate equipment profile, and desired mashed thickness if using one, and postboil size.

If you enable "Auto" pre-boil and post-boil, and your equipment values are accurate, then the software will handle all the calculations. If you need to fiddle with it repeatedly, then one of those three things is not accurate and should be corrected for consistency in your beer production.
