A very newbie question - am about to try my first AG brew and after entering all my data into the calculators I can see my water requirements to mash and sparge. I want to use Maris Otter and Crystal 40, one requires mashing and the other steeping. If I mash the MO for 60 min and steep the crystal separately and combine in the kettle how do I calculate my water requirements? Am I right in assuming that I can't include the crystal in the mash tun?
