I have just recently learned that some of the specialty grains need to be mashed and not steeped. I have already brewed and bottled a small batch of the recipe below which I think went well after taste testing at each stage. I steeped the gains in a pot and raise the temperature to 155-160 degrees and hold it there for 20-30mins then a small sparge with 170degree water. Should I be doing a mash with these grains and should it be mashed with a base malts or are they fine on there own?
