Soba Ale

Tried a Morimoto Rogue Soba ale at a sushi bar in Indy.... Anyone had experience with Soba/Toasted buckwheat in beers? I'd love to try that ale - it was nutty and quite nice! There are kits and some clone recipes out there but thought I'd ask for others' experience before this fool rushes in....

I have read some threads about malting your own buckwheat and toasting it. Apparently it gives that nutty flavor you mentioned. I believe people primarily try to use it in gluten free beer.
