I was going to brew a clone of Rare Vos from Clone Brews 2nd ed. Their recipe projected the OG somewhere between 1.072-1.073, and the FG was 1.013. In BF, the OG came out to 1.069 and FG 1.017.

What gives? Why are the numbers so different? I have found this to be true when I add most recipes into BF. I know it doesn't matter much, if the beer is good-drink it-who cares what the ABV is. But I am still curious as to why this happens.

Any info would be a big help.

Thanks-
Lou

no two software set ups will match up perfectly, plus you might have a different efficiency or attenuation or batch size than they do, the only way to make it work is to use your set up and change ingredients until the preferred gravities match

Yeah, I kind of thought that would be it. Thanks for the info.
