I'm bringing this request back. It was asked for around a year ago. The ability to private msg others would be a great addition to a member's area . For example, I noticed that a fellow member brewed a recipe of mine and having the ability to communication with that person directly to get feedback would be beneficial. It would also aid brewers to collaborate on specific topics without hijacking a thread.
