@Trialben ! I stubbed my toe on this earlier today...my skin is still crawling! Time to break out some serious mouse eating predators. How do you guys in the "control" biz handle a mouse plague?

Yeah that's been mostly in NSW and south western QLD I'm on coastal SE Queensland this has been on going for a fair while now I'm sure for like a year.
I remember hearing about it on local County hour (a farming radio segment) and warning the boss to stock up on rodenticide in case A stock ran out and B the little furry critters trickled our way

.
So I can report luckily we have had an up tick on mice jobs our local bakery job we do has had a few of the little buggers running around which has kept us on our toes.
But yeah not plague proportions like has been witnessed down In NSW where they are running rampant.
I know the CSIRO were looking to up the dose rate in an Pellet style bait that they can dispense from air because the mice were growing wary of the bait after a single feed and not going for another lethal dose.
But I think the secondary poisoning risk to other birds and such was too high and risky.
They did have some good floods down there last summer which everyone was hopping would break the breading cycle and flood their burrows and put a stop to them but that wasnt to be.
Our wheat and barley sorghum corn ect crops have been bumper from the good summer winter rains so this coupled with almost drought breaking rain has created the perfect environment for the mice to thrive.
It's a cruel world aye after decade of farmers working drought debilitated dust they finally cop a break and wham mouse plague ruins their Seed crop
