Hi Guys,

I have been using brewers friend on trial for a while and would like to upgrade, however, currently there is only an option to pay via card and not via paypal. The problem with this is that I get charged a transaction fee for non-GBP payments (i live in the UK). As such, this would mean my monthly amount would cost me twice as much because of fees.

Is there any way to approach this right now, and if not, can we add this as a feature request?

I saw that from previous forum posts that Paypal was no longer supported but would urge that whilst this might make sense to not use paypal anymore (i get it with the crazy charges), there needs to be a way for somebody across the pond to pay in GBP and not get well and truly ruined by the charges.

I truly had no idea how that works. We are looking into this right now to see how we can support different currencies without such huge fees hurting our customers. I'll keep you posted on what I find out and when we can implement something for our customers not in the US.

Thanks Yooper!

It's a bit of a pain to be honest. Some companies do not have a foreign currency charge but with my bank that is the case. For example, if I was to make a payment of $2.50 I would be looking at a $3 charge on that (It's a $3 charge regardless of the value), so I would actually be paying more for the charge than the membership itself.

Admittedly you could argue that you could just take the yearly membership and that would be OK, but I am a rolling man and as such would prefer a rolling membership over a yearly fee.

Frustratingly, this is the thing that is holding me back right now. The ability to sign up to your software for the professional version is purely stopped by the fact that I cannot pay in my own currency.

I would be more than happy to pay a fee for Paypal (Maybe $0.5 fees?) to have the privilege of using Paypal.

As a developer myself (and part UX designer), I can tell you that people would prefer to pay the fees for Paypal than to use your proprietary checkout (even if it does use stripe as its core) as people don't tend to trust forms on your site.

Just my 2C anyway and let me know on the progress as I am very eager to get using your software properly as I hate not having the ability to add more recipes and unfortunately have had to look for alternatives in the meantime.

Cheers.
