I decided to get into brewing because I wanted something to hide my chicken coops from the highway. My dad suggested hops, so there ya go. My hops are growing well, though this is their first year and I am just letting them grow a little wild in hopes they focus on establishing themselves. I orders 6 rhizomes, 3 Cascade and 3 Nuggets. All the Nuggets grew fine, but only one Cascade made it.

I got impatient and bought the brewing supplies and a box of ingredients. I'm one week in! A friend I work with (Big Bones Brewing) told me to join this site, so here I am! Looking forward to nerding up on brewing.

Beer came out pretty good. I ended up with 4 gal and it's been enjoyed by me and friends. Now I'm not a connoisseur, but my assessment is that the hops flavor came out good, but the beer flavor seemed watery.
