My 26 year old kegerator made out of a Sanyo mini fridge finally died. I am wanting to build another but am having difficulty getting good inside dimensions. I need 18 wide between rack supports, 9 deep to the compressor hump and 27 minimum height. Years ago there was a mini fridge conversion thread on one of the homebrew forums that would recommend various models that would work. Those have mostly died out now. Has anyone recently converted a mini fridge into a kegerator to hold two cornys and can recommend a model? I have emailed a couple companies about internal dimensions of various models but I seem to just get back AI nonsense in return.

I would just go to your local appliance store with a tape measure.

They do make kegerators off the shelf too

You could get a used full sized fridge for cheap and put tap handles in the door. Mine fits 4 kegs comfortably, and doubles as a freezer where I keep my many pounds of hops, and vac sealed meat.

Mine holds two.

I scored 2x refrigerators off Nextdoor locally. One cost me a whole $25, the 2nd one I think was free. The first one I got is pretty vintage and well used, but it's still chugging along in my hotbox/garage/brewery/etc. The 2nd one gave out and I had to replace it. I bought a 'garage ready' on from Lowes for ~$500-ish. Full size and works well. I did have to get a service call under warranty to replace a part, but otherwise they keep the kegs cold, despite the TX heat. I wasn't looking to get a new one, but I had kegs in the 2nd fridge didn't want them getting cooked.

The mini fridge sizes are tough to guesstimate. I have one kegerator that will hole 2 5 gallon kegs or 3x 2.5 gallon kegs, but the one I bought off Amazon holds 3 x 5 gallon kegs + CO2 and Nitro cylinders inside.

I bought one of my fridges for around $100 about 6-7 years ago.
When I got it home and cleaned it up I found an envelope in the freezer with $1600 in $50 and $100 bills!
After wrestling with what to do for about 45 seconds, I took it back to them

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys. I don't want a full size fridge kegerator as I already have one for serving and conditioning. I need something more mobile with a small footprint anyway. Not interested in a keezer, I have had one in the past. I don't want to be dragging 50lb kegs up and over the rim. Getting old lol. But anyway, thanks again for the suggestions.

yeah I got rid of the chest freezer style I had
one that loads from the front so much easier

I decided to go with the EdgeStar BR2001SS. I was hoping to get by around $200 and this is over double that but should be an easy installation of my Perlick 2 faucet tower. Now I just need to brew!

I had one like that in black. Only difference it had a digital temp control. . worked really nice. 3 cornies are tight, but fit

I totally get the "dragging 50lb kegs up and over the rim".....just waiting on mine to die before I replace it. Physical therapy in the meantime. :)

I bought a used single door fridge for my kegs, turned my freezer kegerator into a fermentation chiller
