Hello all -

Looking at some IPA recipes (NB's "Plinian Legacy" in particular) ... and it calls for use of a "HopShot"

http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/hopshot.html

Trying to figure out the best way to include this element, in the Recipe Builder ... anyone, any ideas?

Thoughts / replies appreciated!

"Sláinte!" :D

Hi RootCzar,
You'll have to calculate the IBUs based on the amount of the hop extract you are using and the gravity of the wort (but you know that already). You can enter a fake hop variety with an IBU of 100 and then a fake amount which will be so small that the calculated hop absorption will not affect your water measurements in a meaningful way. It would be way better for the program to do everything for you, including reminding you not to taste the stuff, but we haven't seen much new features since the site was bought. I have a syringe of hopshot in my frig but haven't used it yet. Let us know how it turns out.

Best, PZ
