How long per step in a yeast starter

I know. Cool.

One of those milestones in the journey from beginner to intermediate brewer. Next challenge - water treatment? Yeast harvesting? Use a beer gun to fill bottles? Get a stainless FV?
The question is where do you want to go next. Stainless won't improve your beer but is easy to clean, indestructible and looks nice. How often do you bottle and is your current system working? How often do you use the same yeast in a row and is it worth your time? Are your beers coming out well and can you trace faults back to the water? I don't think the milestone from beginning to intermediate is any of the above, it's starting to move from knowing what to do to knowing why you do it.

Yeast harvesting is darn near free ( I need a new canning lid each save). I used my '05 seven times and it was still working great . Just tossed it as I used several other types for a while. I now have a few different saves in the fridge.
Just keep things clean and sanitized.

Hell I just reuse them but I don't pressure can wort.
