Hey folks

Please can you help me out.
On Saturday I thought I would take advantage of the chilly weather here in UK to make a batch of Pilsner for cold conditioning in the shed.

Problem is I wasn’t paying attention and used Fermentis Safale US05. The brew was at 10C by Sunday morning when I realised the mistake and the gravity had not changed.

So I then added Fermtis SafLager W34/70 to the batch.

The gravity though has still not moved from 1.030 which it was post boil.

have I lost the batch?

Yup sounds like the gravity has changed you've got fermentation. No krausen on top?
Shell be right don't stress at this stage.

US05 is known to work down to 12C. So you double pitched, which is good. I think it will be fine. US05 isn't as clean as 34/70, but at 12C it would be fine. 10C might be a little low for US05, but not 34/70. Let 'er buck!

Yep. Patience is called for here. 4 days at most and you'll see action.

No, you made a blonde ale instead of a Pilsner. No biggie.

Is it still at 10c?
If so, the safale 05 may not contribute at all.
You'll make beer and have a learning experience to boot!
Cheers,
Brian
