That looks great. Porter or Stout?

Welcome to Brewers Friend. As you have seen, we’re all happy to help new and experienced brewers.

Where in your beautiful and big country are you? I’m guessing not the East coast, considering your water question.

Oh, and that beer looks delicious! Somewhat non-Australian, that dark. But still delicious!

I'm from the South East in regional NSW. Been brewing for a while but trying to always improve. The water aspect i have ignored, but only just getting into. I must admit i do like the darker beers, trying to perfect the bock and porter styles.
I will start applying some salts etc... looking forward to picking some brains and getting to know like minded brewers. GREAT SITE.

That is my honey porter.. probably the best I have made. Great to have with a good steak.

That is one of the beauties of being a Homebrewer, you aren't reliant on what those around you are drinking and therefore what local liquor stores and breweries are selling.

Oh and welcome to the forum @parrankin!

Yes commercial beers in Australia are very ordinary, however there are small breweries popping up all over the place. Much better to produce your own though!
