gas or electric stove when mashing/boiling

Why not just pick up a 9.25 gallon DIgiBoil? Can't see where a burner would be much cheaper or more effective.
 
For those of us not in the US it's considerably cheaper to roll your own most of the time.
 
Our part of the world has lots of powercuts, so gas (and solar) are popular.
Gas bottles (natural gas) are easy to get and work on a deposit system. Typically, we will pay 1-1.5 dollar per kg.
I work with gas and it works well.
