Fruited Golden Ale

I always wondered about the watermelon it is not a strong flavor. Now yesterday I had an apricot ale that smelled nice and tasted good I initially but don't think I'd do a keg. I also had a tangerine ale which I liked better. It had a nice background bitterness but not like a hops bitterness. I'm thinking of trying it. I've done tangerine beer but used zest because I thought the pith would be to bitter but maybe not. I have some 3 gallon kegs so may try

On a side note:

i need to figure out what sour to brew next week...
the fruit i have on hand is:

Blood orange
POG-Passion orange guava
kiwi(half a jug)
Strawberry(crap ld carleson flavoring)
Blueberry(crap Ld carleson)
Coconut flavoring
blackberry(3/4 jug)
sour cherry
marshmellow
lemon/lime juice

Can buy regular juices when at the store too.

I was thinking maybe blood orange and vanilla or blood orange marshmellow??????

I vote for the orange by itself. It's funny I'm thinking of a soured porter. Last time I did it as a kettle sour, I've also done barrel soured. This time may try the Philly yeast. I've kinda resisted it but Guess I need to try for myself

watermelon and peach are both really light flavors. apricot on the other hand is a very very strong flavor. if you look at amoretti's website they actually talk about the relative strengths of the different fruits.

peach is essentially just sugar and some acid. watermelon is really just water and sugar.

You know I have a current bush and made sour beer from it which may have been a favorite

i could certainly give that a swing. i have an apricot on right now that is very good.

maybe i will shoot for less sour this time around.

i really really like the lallemand sour pitch. super reliable. knock at 104f pitch 50g in. 24-48 hrs depending on how sour i want it i will toss 1/2 my fruit, 250g of voss and push pure O2 through the carb stone to spin things up. Super consistent and the souring is safe for the tanks.

I grow all the above. The peach makes a pleasant wine as does the pears. I'll probably dry the apricot and maybe some schnapps

Untappd is brutal for the industry for sure. But you asked a forum full of beer needs about recipe feedback, what did you expect besides nerdy/traditional feedback :D
lol I thought we had all collectively moved past this!!!

now im second guessing my el dorado hop addition for the watermelon golden ale. I have azacca, sabro, citra, mosaic, cascade, simcoe, and a bunch more on hand.

stuck with the eldorado, actually re arranged the hops a little toward the "juicy" side of things...i think it gonna be good. in the tank right now!
