Hello All,

I am planning to do my own Excel Sheet to make all the necessary calculation to plan my beer. However, I am not finding the theory behind. For example, I could not find how the Brewer's Friend OG calculator estimate the OG considering the weight, type of malt and volume. There is a website where I can find how all the Brewer's calculator works?

Get "How to Brew" by Palmer. It has pretty much all the equations a homebrewer needs. But, outside of the work and getting familiar with the equations, why would you want to build your own when there are so many good recipe builders out there, including the one on this site?

(I do recommend a few passes using manual calculations to learn what's going on in the recipe builder, though....)
