I've been using this style, works for me. I'm embarrassed to say it took over a year of brewing before I realize the end pops off for cleaning! I then put a stir magnetic from my stir plate for weight and used a strong magnetic on the outside of my fermzilla to move it around and keep out if the sediment during transfer to my keg.I use one of these in an allrounder.
After many brews, I only ever had one issue.
It actually got hung up on the side of the fermenter a bit in the yeast sludge. That was a rough transfer, but only ever had the issue once, and have never had it clog up (sometimes I dry hop heavily).

Clever idea to put the magnet in the filter!I've been using this style, works for me. I'm embarrassed to say it took over a year of brewing before I realize the end pops off for cleaning! I have heard good things about using the stainless steel washer on it so it does not ride so high. I have used the same thing without the washer and sometimes it will suck air on a transfer in the All Rounder.Mine have the float and mesh filter they also came with a stainless steel washer to weigh everything down just a bit and keep it from floating too high and sucking foam and CO2 rather than beer. Seems to work just fine.
